Elaine Woods is an Indigenous Artist from the remote Docker River, Western Australia. She was born in 1969 and is the daughter of the renowned and highly collectable artist Maringka Baker. 

Elaine learnt how to depict her sacred Dreaming from her mother Maringka, who was a feature artist in the National Gallery’s Culture Warriors Triennial. 

Inspired by the development of the Aboriginal Art Movement in the Pitjantjatjara lands, Elaine paints “My Mother’s Country” which encompasses natural ochers in accordance with sections of vibrant tones, intricately dotted to create sophisticated and highly interesting artworks.
