ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Helen Rubuntja was born around 1965 on Ammaroo station, located 350km North-east of Alice Springs.

Helen is the daughter of the prominent artist Nelly Rubuntja APetyarre (Petyarre), and together depicts their family’s dreaming’s. Over time Helen has developed her artistic skill, which can be seen through her interpretation of “Bush Seeds” where she demonstrates her attentive and meticulous line and dot work.

In Helen’s portrays of the Utopian “Bush Leaves”, the artist incorporates bold colours and soft movement in her pieces to illustrate the sacred Bush Medicine Leaves as they float to the ground in the warmer seasons.

Helen further enhances her artworks using warm, vibrant colours that create a mesmerizing landscape.
